SRK looks awesome: Rituparna
| By FH Stuff Posted On October 23rd, 2009 |
She may have supported KKR at Eden Gardens, but it isn’t the team that’s bowled Rituparna Sengupta over. It’s the owner Shah Rukh Khan, who’ll be seen with the Bong beauty in a TV commercial. The actor speaks about King Khan, being self-made, her dreams, and more…

How was it working with SRK?
It was a wonderful experience—working with Shah Rukh was a delight. He’s very amiable, playing pranks on everyone. Considering his stature, Shah Rukh is very down-to-earth and has no airs. He wanted to do his best in every shot. SRK isn’t the type that says “ok, ok, ho gaya”—he would come to the monitor to see his shots. Of course, most of them were okayed after the first take. Shah Rukh is very much a director’s actor.
What struck you about him?
Shah Rukh’s a very skilled actor and can handle a lot of things simultaneously. He makes most of the situation. He’s also from a very normal family; neither of us have a filmi background. Like SRK, I’m too am self-made and try doing new things all the time.
You seem bowled over…
Of course, everybody would be. And that isn’t because he’s a big star, but because of his amazing personality. I told him everybody here wants to meet me and get my autograph, but I was now meeting someone who I’m a fan of. That amused him a lot.
Do you feel age is showing on him?
Not at all, he looks slimmer and even more chiseled. Shah Rukh looks awesome.
The moment you were told you’d be working with Shah Rukh…
I was thrilled, completely thrilled. I’d like to thank the Emami group—they wanted a connection by combining both the brand ambassadors.

Any possibility of acting in an SRK film?
It’s a dream. It may just remain a dream, but I will always be happy about this chance of working with him. I look forward to news that I’ve been selected for an SRK film (laughs).
Who do rank as Bollywood’s numero uno?
SRK, definitely SRK. But I’m also a big admirer of Amir Khan. We’re very proud of what all he’s done.
Tell us about your film SRK…
SRK is a Warner Bros. film by Ajay Varma. It’s an extremely interesting comedy—very commercial but with a lot of emotion and sensitivity as well. SRK is the remake of a superhit Malyalam film.
